We take cattle from Hood County for full USDA-inspected harvest and fabrication, at one flat fee of $850 for a whole animal or $450 for a half, with cut and wrap, vacuum sealing, and your weight report already included.
Because we run under federal inspection rather than custom-exempt, beef processed here can be legally sold by the cut: at farmers markets, to restaurants, or direct to your customers. If you’re building a brand in Hood County, that distinction matters.
Turnaround is 2–3 weeks from drop-off, which includes a full 14-day aging period.
FM 51 north out of Granbury runs through Weatherford and continues straight to Springtown; the plant is just east of the 51 and 199 junction. About an hour and five minutes with a trailer. From Tolar or Lipan, come up through Weatherford on 377 and pick up 51 there.
Hood County splits between lake-country acreages around Granbury and real ranch land out toward Tolar and Lipan, and both send us cattle. The Hood County Junior Livestock Show and Sale in early January is one of the oldest county shows in the state, in its 72nd year in 2027. There are processors closer to Granbury than we are. Families make the drive up 51 for one reason: the beef comes back with a USDA mark instead of a NOT FOR SALE stamp, and the price is the same number they were quoted.
